Last week, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was shot in the hip by a Bernie Sanders supporter at a baseball practice for the GOP.
While Scalise recovers — currently being in a “fair” condition — he was just alerted of a major surprise.
President Trump gave his kids a tour of the White House.
“They got the A tour,” the president joked. “You know, sometimes, we give the B, the C, the D and the F tour. Just like, ‘Here it is, let’s get out of here.'”
Fox Insider reports:
The president honored Scalise and his family at the annual White House picnic Thursday, saying the outpouring of support for the congressman has been inspiring.
The shooting spree, which also wounded two Capitol police officers, a congressional aide, and a lobbyist brought Congress together for a moment in support of the victims.
The congressional baseball game went ahead as planned, and raised a whopping $1.5 million for charity.
President Trump said he wanted to attend the game “so badly you have no idea but I spent a little time at the hospital instead with Steve.”
