During hurricane relief efforts in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida, President Donald Trump has worn his black windbreaker.
But why? After all, the temperatures in those three states were grueling — with some days at 95+ degrees.
He’s disguising a 15-20 lb bulletproof vest.
In a typical heavy-duty kevlar vest, there are blocks of protection in different places — and the baggy-ness of the windbreaker disguises those extremely well.
However, the downside is that it be a real pain if used in the heat for long periods of time, which is exactly what the commander in chief did.
It just goes to show his devotion to lifting the spirits of those struck by disaster.
During the campaign, when Trump was giving fiery and controversial speeches on a daily basis, he also wore bulletproof vest, albeit a less bulky version.
According to New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman, Trump usually finished his speeches completely exhausted, but was worth it to him as it gave peace of mind during the tense moment when Secret Service members surrounded him after a man tried to rush the stage at an Ohio rally in March 2016.
