Nancy Pelosi Plays President, Undermines Controversial Trump Order

On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sidestepped President Donald Trump’s dis-invitation of the Golden State Warriors visit to the United States capital, offering the team to come anyway because of their “triumphant victory” during the 2017 NBA championship.

Free Beacon reports:

In a joint letter with Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee (Calif.), who represents the Oakland area where the team is located, Pelosi wrote June 20 they would be “delighted” to welcome the team publicly or personally as families to the Capitol.

“The Golden State Warriors have once again dazzled America with your outstanding performance on the court and inspired us with the leadership you show off the court as well,” Pelosi and Lee wrote. “You make the Bay Area and indeed the country deeply proud.”

She tweeted it out on Tuesday, writing “the offer still stands.

[email protected] & @warriors – the offer still stands. #DubNation,” Pelosi tweeted.

Pelosi appeared to single out Warriors guard and two-time Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry in her tweet as a dig at President Donald Trump, who blasted Trump in a tweet over the weekend, rescinding an invitation for the whole team to visit the White House.

“Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team,” Trump tweeted on Saturday. “Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!”
