Congress has planned to take off the entire month of August.
And people are furious about it — especially after they’ve refused to repeal Obamacare, pass tax cuts, and start construction on a border wall.
First, 10 Republican Senators spoke out against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to cancel the August recess: Senator Perdue (Georgia), Senator Daines (Montana), Senator Ernst (Iowa), Senator Kennedy (Louisiana), Senator Lankford (Oklahoma), Senator Lee (Utah), Senator Rounds (South Dakota), Senator Strange (Alabama), Senator Sullivan (Arkansas), and Senator Tillis (North Carolina).
And now, President Donald Trump is condemning the August recess, telling them all to get to work:
“I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!” Trump tweeted.
I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!
