President Donald Trump addressed the media on Friday from his Bedminster, NJ resort, standing alongside Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, and National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster.
Immediately, the first question asked was what he could tell Americans who are “on edge” about the heightened rhetoric between the U.S. and North Korea.
“Hopefully it will all work out, okay?” Trump responded. “Nobody loves a peaceful solution better than President Trump, that I can tell you.”
He went on to say that he thinks “lots of good things could happen” but “we could also have a bad solution.”
Another reporter asked him if “bad solutions” means going to war, to which he said, “I think you know the answer to that.”
Later on, he was asked if he spoke to the Guam Governor Eddie Baza Calvo during all of this.
“No I have not,” he answered, “but I feel that they will be very safe, believe me. They will be very safe. And if anything happens to Guam, there’s gonna be big, big trouble in North Korea.”
