Buzzfeed is in some big trouble.
Earlier in November, the left-leaning millennial site spurred on the term “fake news” after Donald Trump’s victory, targeting news outlets with conservative bias — and now, not ironically, they’re the most egregious offender of publishing fake news.
Except this time, Donald Trump has legal grounds to fight back — since they decided to run with verifiably false documents saying the president-elect has ties to Russia.
Mark Grabowski, a journalism professor, gave the popular (and not so popular) internet website some very bad news:
Back in February, Donald Trump said, “We’re going to open up libel laws, and we’re going to have people sue you like you’ve never got sued before.” But, in this case, the law doesn’t need to be changed at all for that to happen.
