In the last 24 hours, there’s been quite a series of unfortunate events for Canada.
Here’s what Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted early Sunday in response to President Trump’s immigration ban:
“To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength. #WelcomeToCanada.”
Well, things went south soon after that.
Later on that evening, six people were killed and eight were injured in a shooting during prayer time at a Quebec City mosque — two were arrested, one of which was Arab, defying any future media spin.
Not surprisingly, eyewitnesses report that the attacker screamed the stereotypical “Allahu Akbar” before spraying down innocent Canadian muslims as they were praying.
Then, Trudeau ate words — and doubled down on his progressive values. He came out and labeled this attack as terrorism in a statement:
“We condemn this terrorist attack on Muslims in a centre of worship and refuge. It is heart-wrenching to see such senseless violence. Diversity is our strength, and religious tolerance is a value that we, as Canadians, hold dear.”
