Megyn Kelly had a prime-time slot on Fox News, being one of the biggest — if not the biggest — anchor on cable television.
However, she took the money and ran, signing a multi-million dollar contract with NBC in which she partakes in three separate shows.
So, you can imagine her embarrassment and shock when she learned that Tucker Carlson, the fiery conservative who replaced Kelly, is garnering a double-digit surge in ratings.
Carlson’s show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” in its debut prime-time week, averaged 3 million viewers, including 576,000 in the 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The viewership boost is a 10 percent increase over the 2016 average for Kelly’s former show, “The Kelly File,” and a 12 percent increase in the 25-54 demographic. Compared to last year at this time, Carlson’s show is up 21 percent in total viewers and 52 percent in the 25-54 demographic.
This is exactly what happens when you defect from objective journalism and bend the knee to the establishment — viewers will leave and lie in the waits for a replacement.
As long as Fox News anchors and reporters pursue the truth when it comes to a wide-vareity of issues, they will be widely successful.
