President Trump has come out of the gate swinging.
Since he took office last Friday, he’s been working on several issues he’s talked about during the campaign trail. However, he’s finally got his first thing out of the way.
On Monday, Trump signed an executive order freezing federal hiring and wage increases for multiple agencies, according to Newsmax.
The hiring freeze does not apply to is military and national security employees.
This will prevent the government from continuing its rapid expansion that occurred under the Obama administration, while allowing Trump to make the good hires he’s so well-known for.
This was a major campaign promise. In October, during Trump’s renowned “Gettysburg Address,” he slammed federal bureaucracies, saying it was time to “reduce [the] federal workforce through attrition.”
