On Monday, Miley Cyrus attacked First Lady Melania Trump’s top designer Stefano Gabbana of the Dolce & Gabbana fashion brand.
She called him out for holding conservative values and standing with the Trumps in a post praising her brother, Braison Cyrus, for walking in the Dolce & Gabbana show in Italy.
“PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!” added Cyrus.
Her comment did not sit well with Gabbana.
“Ignorant!!!” Gabbana wrote in response. Adding, “For your stupid comment, never more work with him.”
Uh-oh — looks like the Cyrus’ are going to have to find another designer.
Here are some of the stances the brand took that offended many:
“The only family is the traditional one,” Dolce and Gabbana told Panorama, an Italian Magazine. Stefano Gabbana and and Domenico Dolce, co-designers of the brand, Dolce & Gabbama, were previously in a relationship for 23 years before breaking up in 2005.
“You are born to a mother and a father – or at least that’s how it should be,” added Dolce. They also said IVF is unnatural and should not be used for gay couples to have children.
Dolce and Gabbana dressed Melania Trump for the official white house portrait in 2017, along with many dresses during her international trip with President Donald Trump.
