JUST IN: Mattis Sets New RECORD In Fight Against ISIS… God Bless America!

Secretary of Defense James Mattis has broken several records during his short tenure within the administration thus far — and he’s just set another record.

Newsmax reports:

U.S.-led coalition warplanes dropped more bombs against ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria in May than in any previous month of the three-year war, new Pentagon statistics show.

Stars and Stripes reported 4,374 bombs and missiles were released last month, the first time the number has topped 4000 since Operation Inherent Resolve began in August 2014.

The previous high was in March, when warplanes dropped 3,878 bombs and missiles targeting ISIS.

According to Stars and Stripes, much of the increase occurred in Syria to support operations to reclaim land around Raqqa, an ISIS stronghold.

Stars and Stripes reported it is believed about 2,500 ISIS fighters remain in Raqqa, where U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have nearly encircled the city.
