On Tuesday, Rep. Trey Gowdy tore ex-CIA Chief John Brennan a new one.
The fiery South Carolina congressmen had a very specific line of questions regarding “evidence” surrounding alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Gowdy, being as good as he is, actually made Brennan admit that doesn’t have a clue about collusion between the two countries.
Trey Gowdy asked the former CIA chief if he had actually seen any evidence about collusion, coordination or conspiracy between President Donald Trump and Russian officials. Here is Brennan’s said:
“I was aware of intelligence and information about contacts between Russian officials and U.S. persons that raised concerns in my mind about whether or not those individuals were cooperating with the Russians. … That served as the basis for the FBI investigation to determine whether such collusion, cooperation occurred.”
Then, asked if he knew of any direct evidence, Brennan simply said, “I don’t know.”
He later followed up with, “I don’t do evidence. I do intelligence.”
Gowdy was not happy with that answer at all and shot back, “You don’t do evidence? Well, I do!”
