As a result of unauthorized surveillance and unmasking, leaks have been popping up from every corner of the White House.
And, not surprisingly, they all have one thing in common – they’re aimed to undermine President Donald Trump.
Rep. Trey Gowdy has had enough of this, making a huge statement about authorization of federal surveillance programs.
On Wednesday, Gowdy, stated that government surveillance programs would not receive the necessary congressional reauthorization for them to continue, at the end of this year, unless the officials answer several questions, on who in the intelligence community unmasked certain individuals.
Now, Gowdy, as well as the rest of the American people are tired of having Susan Rice refuse to testify about the unmasking, as well as others who have stonewalled in getting to the question about the leaks, and he wants answers.
“We’re not going to reauthorize these surveillance programs if the American people are not satisfied that their security is going to be safeguarded,” Gowdy said.
“The unmasking within the intelligence community, that is a privilege to be able to request that a U.S. person’s name be unmasked and I want to know who’s making the request, what is the evidentiary basis of that request,” explained Gowdy.
Gowdy stated that people should also be worried about the late in the term unmasking, which went on at the end of the Obama administration.
If they don’t receive the authorization, they can’t get the information needed to sabotage the president and other innocent people.
