After jotting down a memo and leaking it to the press, former FBI Director James Comey’s plan to sabotage President Trump was just unraveled.
Comey supposedly wrote, according to the New York Times’ “anonymous sources,” a memo in which he claimed that President Trump asked him to “go easy” on Michael Flynn, causing Democrats to be enraged, calling for an impeachment.
And the Democrats — who have a record of contorting information in any way they can to afflict Trump and his administration — are using the following line from the dubious memo to get Trump impeached: “The existence of Mr. Trump’s request is the clearest evidence that the president has tried to directly influence the Justice Department and F.B.I. investigation into links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia.”
However, President Trump has the facts on his side — and he’ll make Comey back into a corner he can’t get out of.
If Comey actually wrote that Trump called on him to shut down the Flynn investigation, it would be breaking the law. But if that happened, Comey is required by law to immediately inform the Department of Justice of any attempt to obstruct justice, by any person — even by the president.
But that part never happened.
Either Comey was telling the truth in his memo and neglected Trump’s “obstruction of justice” — or the info being leaked by anonymous sources is all completely and utter baloney.
But why would Comey expose himself for a crime in his forced departure? He wouldn’t — the memo is a ploy.
It’s quite simple — Trump has not done a single thing wrong, and merely proves that this media outrage all revolves around a fake scandal.
