For not having a wall, the United States is handling illegal immigration like never before.
President Trump’s recent structural changes to Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) and his executive orders regarding border security have already yielded a massive decline in border crossings.
Fox News reports:
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol reported that the number of illegal border crossings dropped from 31,578 to 18,762 persons. Kelly said border agents usually see a 10 to 20 percent increase in illegal immigrant apprehensions from January to February.
“The drop in apprehensions shows a marked change in trends,” Kelly said. “Since the administration’s implementation of executive orders to enforce immigration laws, apprehensions and inadmissible activity is trending toward the lowest monthly total in at least the last five years.”
This is the result of a President who talks tough on borders and illegal immigration. Trump signed an executive order increasing the number of border security agents days after he was elected. Foreigners have been put on notice that they can no longer waltz across the U.S. border and exploit our generous yet flawed welfare system.
