Over the last year and a half, the Obama administration managed and monitored a phone hotline for illegal immigrants, where they could “vent” about their treatment by border patrol agents.
In order to run this operation, a staff of 208 — who spent over 85,000 hours working on the complaints — was required, according to newly-releasedDepartment of Homeland Security documents.
It was also discovered, through a Freedom of Information Act demand by Immigration Reform Law Institute, that this hotline cost taxpayers around $15 million.
Over the course of 20 months, 14,310 calls were lodged with the complaint hotline created as some illegals felt that their “rights” under Obama-era amnesty policie
The hotlines were created in December 2013 and illegals were urged to “tell us about your experience,” especially if they felt they were treated “contrary to the new DHS enforcement priorities.”
