Senator Tim Scott put the Democrats’ “race-card” to rest.
During his speech in support of newly-elected Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the South Carolina senator called out his bigoted, racist detractors on social media to show the level of discourse being thrown his direction. He read the tweets he’s been getting right on the floor of the U.S. Senate Wednesday.
“I go on to read from folks who wanted to share their opinions about my endorsing Jeff Sessions,” he began, quoting from tweets that were sent to him. “You are a disgrace to the black race,” and, “You are an “Uncle Tom” Scott. You are for Sessions. How does a black man turn on his own?”
“He doesn’t have a shred of honor, He’s a ‘house negro’,” another one read, according to Scott. “A black man who is racist against black people. A big ‘Uncle Tom’ piece of fertilizer.”
“I left out all the ones that use the n-word,” Scott continued. “I just felt like that would be not appropriate.”

He continued: “You see what I’m surprised by, just a smidgen, is that the liberal laft that speaks and desires for all of us to be tolerant, do not want to be tolerant of anyone that disagrees with where they are coming from. So the definition of tolerance isn’t that all Americans experience a fall level of tolerance, it’s that all Americans that agree with them experiences this so-called tolerance.”
